Space Bunny in OpenRouter's ranking: who is it pushing aside

A month ago the model was free and nameless. In one week its usage jumped sharply. What the latest OpenRouter ranking shows and why it is growing.

MiniMax M3.1 Flash, known in September as the anonymous model Space Bunny, gained 46% in a week on the OpenRouter ranking and reached eighth place. Claude Opus 5.5 sits directly above it and GPT-5.6 Luna directly below.

The figures come from the weekly OpenRouter ranking with data through November 5. The platform ranks models by tokens processed over the last seven days and compares the result with the previous week.

Rank Model Tokens per week Week over week
6 Hy4 preview, Tencent 6.58T −28%
7 Claude Opus 5.5, Anthropic 6.53T −17%
8 MiniMax M3.1 Flash 6.04T +46%
9 GPT-5.6 Luna, OpenAI 4.99T +123%
10 Hy4, Tencent 4.01T new

First place, by a wide margin, belongs to DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 1017 with 56.5 trillion tokens for the week.

On September 23 the developers of OpenCode, a coding assistant app, and the OpenRouter platform opened free access to a model called Space Bunny without naming its maker. About 201,000 people used it through OpenCode during the first week. On October 19 the Chinese company MiniMax confirmed it had been an early version of its M3.1 Flash model. How the maker was traced before the confirmation, what the benchmarks show and what hardware the model needs is covered in a separate KRAKOBIT article.

The growth comes down to price and availability. A million input tokens cost $0.15 and a million output tokens cost $0.60. The weights are open, so 12 providers serve the model on OpenRouter at once, and the cheapest one charges even less: $0.1125 and $0.45.

OpenRouter notes that the ranking shows volume, not quality. It counts tokens, not users or spend, and verbose models collect more. In the daily ranking M3.1 Flash is ninth, and eighth place is held by a new model with no named maker, Crouton Alpha, up 71%.
